The observant reader has probably already noticed that the top engine depicted is the PW-220 and not the PW-200 which we have in the danish f16. If you have a picture of the PW-200 I would apreciate if yoy would mail it to me :o)
The F100-PW-200 is an afterburning turbofan engine with a maximum thrust of approximately 25000 pounds. The basic weight of the aircraft with full internal fuel is 24700 pounds, so the f16 actually has a thrust to weight ratio of more than one to one in some configurations. This means that the aircraft is capable of accelerating vertical. When the aircraft is flying above supersonic speed the engine is actually producing more than 100.000 horsepower.
