How to ad the code !

If you are having problems adding the code, please check the instructions below. The most common problem is that people forget they have to physically place the Aviation Top 100 logo (the gif) in the same folder as the page where they are placing the code. If failing to do so you will see an empty box where the Logo is supposed to show.

Select the HTML editor you are using to ad your code:

Adobe GoLive 4.0

Use the following procedure for Adobe GoLive 4.0.

Right click on the Aviation Top 100 Logo you want to use. Select 'Save as' and save it in the same folder as the page where you are wanting to place the code.
Open your page in Adobe GoLive 4.0.
Click 'Source' in the menu.
Insert the Aviation Top 100 HTML Code between the <body> and </body> tag's.
Select 'Preview' in the menu to test the result and save your page afterwards.
Note: Don't move the Logo in any of the other modes (Like fx. 'Layout') after you have inserted the code. This will modify the Aviation Top 100 code and result in script error on the page when it is displayed in a browser.

Dreamweaver 4.0

Dreamweaver 4, will following installation change the placement and modify the Aviation Top 100 Code. Follow this to avoid it :

Right click on the Aviation Top 100 Logo you want to use. Select 'Save as' and save it in the same folder as the page where you are wanting to place the code.
EDIT --> PREFERENCES
Click "Code Rewriting"
UN-check both:
fix invalidly nested and unclosed tags
remove extra closing tags
The Checkbox "warn when fixing or removing tags" will automatically be deselected when doing this.

After this insert the Aviation Top 100 code in the HTML window:

Click on the "<>" button to switch to Code condition.
OR, select VIEW --> CODE
Make sure to remove old Aviation Top 100 code.
Insert the Aviation Top 100 code between <body> and </body> .
Take a look at the page in your browser to make sure the code is inserted correctly.
Save the file.

Note: After the code has been inserted, don't move it in any of the other modes, since this will modify the code and make it stop counting. If you want to move the Logo you need to remove it completely and then follow the above steps.

HomeSite 4.5 Shouldn't have any problems with the code, but if you experience any follow this:

Right click on the Aviation Top 100 Logo you want to use. Select 'Save as' and save it in the same folder as the page where you are wanting to place the code.
Open the Edit window.
Copy the Aviation Top 100 Code.
Insert the code between the <body> </body> tags in the document.

HOTDOG PROFESSIONAL 5.5

HotDog Professional 5.5 Shouldn't have any problems with the code, but if you experience any follow this:

Right click on the Aviation Top 100 Logo you want to use. Select 'Save as' and save it in the same folder as the page where you are wanting to place the code.
Insert the code between the <body> </body> tags in the document.
Click 'External Preview' in the "File" Toolbar or press (F9) and select a browser in which to view the page.

Follow this:

Right click on the Aviation Top 100 Logo you want to use. Select 'Save as' and save it in the same folder as the page where you are wanting to place the code.
Show the page in "Normal" mode.
Place the cursor where you want the Logo to be
Click "Insert" on the menu.
Click "FrontPage Component…"
Click "Insert HTML"
Insert the Aviation Top 100 code between the <body> and </body> tags:
Click "Ok"

Microsoft FrontPage 2000

If you edit your pages with FrontPage 2000 and experience problems with the stats it is most likely because Fromtpage has modified the code. Remove the code completely and follow the steps below:

Right click on the Aviation Top 100 Logo you want to use. Select 'Save as' and save it in the same folder as the page where you are wanting to place the code.
View your page in 'Design View' (default view).
Click at the bottum of the page.
Click Insert > Advanced and select "HTML".
Place the cursor where you would like to insert the Logo.
Insert the Aviation Top 100 code between the <body> and </body> tags:
Click "Ok"

Net Object Fusion 4.0
Net Object Fusion 4.0 Shouldn't have any problems with the code, but if you experience any follow this:

Right click on the Aviation Top 100 Logo you want to use. Select 'Save as' and save it in the same folder as the page where you are wanting to place the code.
Click "Layout Properties"
Click the "HTML" button
Click "Beginning of Body"
Insert the Aviation Top 100 code in the text box and click "Ok"

Net Object Fusion 5.0
If you experience problems inserting the Aviation Top 100 code using NetObjects Fusion 5.0, then follow this:

Right click on the Aviation Top 100 Logo you want to use. Select 'Save as' and save it in the same folder as the page where you are wanting to place the code.
Open your page in NetObjects Fusion 5.0.
Click 'HTML Source'.
Insert the Aviation Top 100 code between the <body> and </body> .
Click 'Page Preview' .
Save the page.
You will now be able to se the placement of the Aviation Top 100 Logo using the 'Page Preview' mode.
Note: If you want to change the placement of the logo, then switch to 'HTML Source', remove the old code and insert again the new place in the HTML code.

Page Mill 3.0

If you edit your pages with Page Mill 3.0 and experience problems with the stats it is most likely because Page Mill 3.0 has modified the code. Remove the code completely and follow the steps bellow:

Right click on the Aviation Top 100 Logo you want to use. Select 'Save as' and save it in the same folder as the page where you are wanting to place the code.
On the chosen page in Page Mill, click "View" from the Dropdown menu and click "Source Mode".
Insert the Aviation Top 100 code between the tags.
Save the file.
You can see your corrections by clicking the "View" dropdown menu and click on "Switch To" and then either "Netscape" or "Internet Explorer".

Microsoft Office Live

1. Ad the gif image itself to the a page you are not using on the Microsoft Office Live Home page. Go to the page and right click on the image to get the url of the image. Copy the url.

2. Now you need to modify the Aviation Top 100 code a bit. log on to get the code and change it in the following way to refleft the URL you copied in step 1. Find the part of the code that says <img name="av" src="avitop6.gif"

your code may say something different that avitop6.gif if you selected a different logo. Modify this part of the code the following way:

<img name="av" src="<INSERT URL HERE>"

3. On the left navigation bar on your Microsoft Office Live Home page, click WebSite. The Page Manager page appears.

4. In the list of Web pages, click Edit next to the page that you want to insert the HTML code in. The page opens in edit mode.

5. Place the cursor in the zone where you want to insert the HTML code.

6. On the taskbar, click Module, and then click HTML. The HTML module appears.

7. Copy and paste the modified Aviation Top 1000 code into the text box.

Why does the Aviation Top 1000 Logo not show?

The most common problem people run into is forgetting to upload the gif image itself to the same folder as the page with the code. For more details read this post in our forum: http://www.avitop.com/AspNetForums/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1815

To reacquire your code log into your account here: http://www.avitop.com/aviation/default.asp#login

Then press the "Change Logo" link.

The reason we require people to host the logo locally is in order to save bandwidth on our servers. The logo is not very big but with several million hits each day it ads up. This way the logo is also presented at the same pace as the rest of the content on your page.

If you don't want to upload the logo to each directory on your site you are welcome to modify the code to point at the place where you have uploaded the logo. Be very careful to not touch any other parts of the code. To modify find the line in the code that looks like this:

target="_blank"><img name="av" src="avitop6.gif" width="135" height="17"

Let's say you have all your images in a folder called images. Then you would upload the selected gif/jpg to the images folder and update the code to:

target="_blank"><img name="av" src="/images/avitop6.gif" width="135" height="17"

Be sure to use the correct gif name. avitop6.gif is just the name of one of our logo's.

Hi im a Freshman this year. I know i seem kinda young but i would like to know what most of the big requirements are for becoming an Air force pilot. On simulators people are saying i should join the air force. And i do have a love for the freedom and speed in the air. Now my eye vision is getting worse it seems then from its orignal 20/20 vision i once had. Ive been using that natural eye rebuilding program to help out. But i have yet to really buy it. Hi, I'm a soon to be Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. I'm about to go to work placement, and am in the process of deciding what tools I should buy.

My professors have taught me a lot about tools so far, but as to what brands to buy that they haven't quite elaborated on.

I am very tempted to start buying some Mastercraft tools. From what I hear they are decent enough to use on a day to day basis. They also have a life time warranty so what could be wrong with buying them, really?

Also, there are really good sales on these tools at Canadian Tire all the time, I'm talking from 25 - 70 percent off.

Please tell me your opinion about these tools, and how they would serve me as an AME.

Too short to fly?

I've recently become very upset at realizing that my lifelong dream of being a USAF pilot may not happen. I meet EVERY physical requirement EXCEPT for the fact that my sitting height is 32" whereas the requirement is 34" I have a standing height of 65 inches. I had hoped expected to grow more by this time (since my parents are not short), but since I am a 17 year old female I'm guessing that I'm basically done. I know that the Air Force has very strict requirements on who they accept as pilots, but have they every been known to make any exceptions based on other criteria? If not, would I have any opportunities as a naval aviator, or another branch of the military? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :]

Communication Question

Is it possible for pilots to communicate while flying at Mach 1+? I figure that they'd fly past their sound before it got into the radio, and it'd be the same way if they were trying to hear a radio communication. I've thought of every possibility I could think of, and the only conclusion I could come up with is that they don't comunicate while flying Mach 1+. So am I right, or is there just something I haven't thought about yet?

I am working on my Private Pilot liceanse and I currently work on all models (civilian) of Bell helicopters ( 206b, 407, 427, 412, and hopefully the 429 very soon) Except for the 430, I have limited knowledge of this airframe. I have also worked on a few EC and Sikorsky ships but as they say a GNS 530 is a still a 530 no matter what its mounted in.

USAF surgeon questions

I'm in my final year of high school and I have been toying around with different fields of interest to go into. I always end up coming back to the idea of becoming a surgeon in the USAF. For some reason I feel strongly about this decision and would like to pursue it. I don't make well enough grades to be accepted into the USAFA, but I have the other aspects down ( leadership, sports, and all around good person). Is there anyone who knows what I should do to further pursue this goal of mine? As far as what colleges, or what path I should take? Are there any surgeon's out there that have an info or tips to give?

First of all, thanks for taking time to read and possibly give feedback to my question! My question is this, I am wondering what my probability of become a Fighter Pilot might be. This is an about me and about what I'm currently doing. -
I have always wanted to fly, it has been a dream of mine for a long time. I have taken a few lessons in a cessna from a pilot that I know, so that I at least know that I like flying. I have kept up a 3.95-4.1 GPA in Highschool. I took two years of AFJROTC, and have MANY MANY community service hours. I am 6ft 3in., I have perfect eye sight, and I am also in very good physical condition. I played football 3 years of Highschool. I am now awaiting acceptance to Embry-Riddle on a NROTC scholarship for 4-year degree in Aeronautical Sciences. After college, I will obviously join the Navy, and hope to, after LOTS of hard work, become a Fighter Pilot. If I were to be accepted into Embry-Riddle and maintain a high GPA, graduating after 4-years with Private, Double engine, Commercial ratings and licenses etc... Come out being 2nd Lieutenant, and with all prior material (Highschool grades, etc...) would I have a slight chance of possibily becoming a Fighter Pilot. I also fully understand the amount of work and effort I will have to put in!

Factors affecting Vmc

Hi, I'm a new multi-engine student trying to gather more info on factors affecting Vmc.
From what I've learned so far, it seems as though everyone has their own theories on what causes Vmc to increase and/or decrease. I've been taught by some that increasing weight will increase Vmc for the following reason:
To maintain lift, the aircraft must fly at a higher angle of attack when weight is increased(true), and therefore left turning tendancies will be stronger at the higher angle of attack, hence increased weight will cause Vmc to go up. Is this really true??? Does anyone really even know? I've been taught by others that Vmc will decrease with weight for other less obvious reasons. Which is right and which is wrong? I can't find any detailed information on any of this stuff. Sounds to me like a bunch of people just sit around and try to think of stuff without any actual testing being done to determine their theories. Can anyone help me out with this? And do you know of any good references available?

Hi everybody sorry for my poor english , i m french and for my chrismas i command a bose headset for helicopter at www.pilotshop.com (in phoenix), since the paiement online they wanted some information (fax with copy of ID and credit card back and front) , i said that it s not very secure to fax those and i decide to tell them to cancel my command .Or 2 days after they took the money ...and my headset is on hold on the history of my commans since that ....I try to contact them but no answer nor by email than by phone ...I m a little bit desapointed .
May someone can tell me if the shop is close ??? or if this website is a scam ......
