F-16 2004? Is that a new upgrade or something? I've never heard of the F-16 2004. In general terms it's a toss up between the '16 and the '29, both are pretty evenly matched, the '16 turns a bit tighter than the '29, and the '29 can go faster than the '16, really and truly though it all boils down to the caliber of pilot behind the H.U.D. Most of the older MiG's have crappy radar, that's been a complaint for a while with the Russians, and their exportees of the MiG29, recently the Russians added IRST to their MiG's yet Lockheed added IRST to the F-16 as well, in a knife fight, I'd take the '16 over a '29 anyday, the '29 does have an advantage on the '16 in BVR combat though..a 200 some odd km Radar Guided Missile, though at 200km I can't see it hitting the target, just because you *can* fire it at that range, doesn't mean you *should* fire it at that range, the farther away from your target you are, the greater the chance that your missile's gonna lose radar lock..simply because of the distance involved with the radar signals bouncing off the target back to the radar guidence seeker. It'd be interesting to see a F-16 and a MiG-29 go head to head. But remember, these are just generalities, there's a ton of advantages each has over the other as far as maintenence and durability goes.
